On Tuesday there was sunshine and showers, but the showers were very heavy and the sunshine not particularly frequent. We went out for the girls' piano lessons, but then stayed in for the afternoon mostly reading. I continued with the Lemony Snicket book and we also carried on with the Middle Ages book. After tea the girls went to play korfball and I went out shortly after they got back to go to my choir.
Wednesday was the day that a walk was being knocked through between the kitchen and the new bit, so it was a good day to be out for the most of the time. M & I went out shortly after 9 o'clock for her French horn lesson, and then after dropping her instrument off at home and collecting K, we headed into town. The first thing we did was come across a piano with a sign saying PLAY ME on top of it and an elderly man doing just that extremely well. K & M were very keen to have a turn too, so we stopped and listened, while the man clearly having noticed the girls tailored his playing to them with a medley of Mary Poppins and then The Wizard of Oz songs. K & M then each had a go, before he continued and we made a start of our list of things to do.

It wasn't long after we got in that we had to go out again for the girls swimming lesson.
Today, we took much longer to get going in the morning, but we did do some more reading. We started with the third Lemony Snicket book and continued with The Middle Ages too. We hadn't quite finished lunch when our friends E, C, L & J arrived and after a cuppa, we went to the park to enjoy the lovely weather outside. As well as exploring various parts of the park and playgrounds, we spent a while in the story-telling area, mostly enjoying stories told by C.

A was supposed to be arriving back from France late this evening, but due to a strike by French air traffic control, he's stuck in Marseille (he left yesterday lunchtime) and is unlikely to be home before Saturday morning, which is very frustrating for all concerned.
