We spent a good part of today out, avoiding the building work (they had to get under the floor in the hall among other things). We took M's French horn back to the shop we bought it through, for them to do a little repair, which they did free of charge, having missed it when they serviced it prior to selling it for the vendor. The girls had their piano lessons, and after a quick lunch we went out to the library and for a treat in a cafe, before going back to pick up M's French horn. We also finished reading
Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, reaching 1066.
Apart from that K & M watched part of a very long
Lego Harry Potter video on YouTube. They found it so funny, I joined them to see what the fuss was about it really was very funny!

While in the cafe, we talked about how we hadn't done anything about the human body for quite a while and decided that we would get back to that and look at the reproductive system.
What do you use for the human body study? I can't seem to find a good book...
ReplyDeleteHiya,
DeleteWe use a mixture of various books old and new, including these two: http://www.dk.co.uk/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9781405391511,00.html and http://www.usborne.com/catalogue/catalogue.aspx?id=1927 We've also used various websites and have bought/borrowed a number of models that you take apart and other things from friends and printed out a big skeleton for labelling. If you do a search for 'human body' on my blog you can see some of the other things we've done. I hope that helps. :-)
