Pyjama day.

We had a pyjama day, which didn't start brilliantly.  K & M had two big arguments, the first of which I stayed out of and eventually they seemed to sort out themselves, however not very long later they were at it again.  I'm not entirely sure if it was a continuation of the earlier one or a brand new one, however this time, since it became physical I intervened and ended up sending them to their bedrooms to give them (and indeed me!) time and space to calm down.  Once I'd calmed down and they'd stopped screaming at each other, I went and talked to them and told them that based on my understand of their argument, it seemed that it was as a result of a lack of communication.  After we'd talked about it for a short while, they agreed that that had been the case and we all had a big hug and all was fine.  I later found out that they had already been sending each other coded messages of apology by 'owl post' and were the best of friend again by this time!

A and I have never been particularly big on Valentine's Day.  We sometimes do cards, but since I know that I feel appreciated the rest of the year and I hope he does too, we don't particularly feel the need to make a fuss on one particular day of the year.  It is, however, a good excuse to make chocolates!  I also wanted to make some for a couple of other friends, so I made rum truffle filled chocolates this afternoon.

They all came out of the mould in one go!
K & M, having made up, spent the afternoon playing with Lego (including, as I understand it, a Lego variation of Forbidden Island) and writing more coded messages to each other.  The codes were inspired by the Simon Drew placemats that my brother and sister-in-law have.  We also continued with a couple more chapters of Ballet Shoes for Anna.
