Organising stuff.

Today was board game week at Asfordby.  We took Destination Hogwarts, Blokus Duo and Forbidden Island, although as it turned out only Forbidden Island was played with and that was by three mums, two of us who had played before, to show it to another mum.  It was a bit quieter than usual this time, with one large family not there due to illness and a few other regulars absent.  M & C had a game of chess, apparently it was fairly close, but M won in the end.

A very serious business.
We all really love going to Asfordby.  The girls get to spend time with some of their best friends and I get to see and chat with mine since K & M dash off the minute we get there.  It's on twice a month, with one of the sessions a board games one, with families bringing games for people to try out.  Often they get ignored in favour of what my girls call 'imagination games', which frequently last more than one session.  The other session in the month generally has a theme and people are asked to bring relevant craft activities, information or other things to do.  The science theme last time went down really well, so I suggested to E that we could have a maths themed one next time and we had a chat about what we could do on the topic - lots of ideas!

Once we got home, I started doing something about the theatre trip that I had said that I was considering organising on a local facebook group and a yahoo list and had got enough interest to go ahead.  We're going to be seeing Tom's Midnight Garden in April.
