Bleurgh!

I have come down with the grottiest cold I've had in a while, so although I have taken K & M here, there and everywhere to their various activities and read to them a bit and A is away until late Friday, so that's about all I can manage at the moment.  So Tuesday it was piano lessons and gymnastics, plus korfball in the evening (but a friend takes them to that) plus some more of Ballet Shoes for Anna.  Today was the monthly ice-skating, which I usually join in with, but today I sat upstairs in the warm cafe while the girls skated.  Then we came home, they watched Annie with a hot chocolate before swimming.

Although feeling this grotty is really not nice, what is good is that now that K & M are a bit older (10 & 8) and more independent, they can look after themselves reasonably well and me too, which is particularly helpful with A away.  For example, we usually run the dishwasher overnight and A empties it before he goes to work in the morning.  Last night I left a note, saying it'd be helpful it they could empty it when they got up and they did.  They may not have put everything in exactly the right place, but I can definitely live with that!
