Having felt run down yesterday, today I have felt positively bleurgh. Fortunately we had friends round, so the girls, K, M & R pretty much entertained themselves with various games and some potion making, while Z & I chatted and drank lots of coffee in her case, tea in mine. Z, R, M & I had a game of Forbidden Island too. We also went out to the park for a while, although by this point M & R were both flagging somewhat, as was evidenced by some difficulty in dealing with apparently slight problems at times.
At the park, K decided that she wanted to be Jack and climb the beanstalk.

| Of course M wanted to try too. |
We parted from Z & R for them to catch the bus home and us to pop to the Co-op to get some milk. Once home K was very helpful in tidying up and emptying the dishwasher, while I did some washing up. M went upstairs to calm down and a while later came down, with a little note of apology (she had hit me in the park and had been defiantly not sorry for doing so) and, while we had a hug, offered to peel and chop carrots ready for tea, which she did. She's very keen to be allowed a pocket knife and I have said that we won't even consider it until she can confidently handle a sharp knife in the kitchen, so I think that was part of her motivation behind the offer, but she did say it was because I'm ill that she wanted to help too.
