Uncle S and Aunty P came for the weekend and brought with them Meg, their dog, also known as 'our only first cousin'. She's a lovely dog and K & M adore her, although she's fairly disinterested in them! Yesterday afternoon we went for a good long walk in a country park, that's still in the process of being created where an old colliery used to be. We were keeping a look out for blackberries (even though it's a bit late now) and didn't find any, but we did find a good apple tree, so brought home a good few of them. K, M & I all climbed up both to reach apples and just because it's fun! We weren't sure if they were cookers or eaters and actually it seemed as though some were one and some the other from their appearance. We tried the ones that looked like eaters and they were good but rather tart. That's 2 of the 'things to do before you're 11 3/4' in one (not that they haven't climbed trees before many a time, but it was the first time they'd eaten an apple just picked from the tree).
Unfortunately I discovered that our camera is broken (the lens cover won't open or shut properly), so I can't take photos at the moment, which is a great shame.
