Timing is everything

Sometimes it seems that every time one or other of my girls asks about something which I can't answer and would be perfect to find out about together, we're always in the car, just about to head out the door or I'm in the middle of cooking.  Then when I remind them later of their question they've lost interest and no longer want to find out about it.  It can be very frustrating!

Today we were in the car nearly home from swimming (or rather not swimming because we went straight from a friend's house where the girls had been and I had remembered to pack everything except swimming costumes - whoops!), when K asked some Olympics questions, that I a bit about, but certainly didn't have all the answers.  So as soon as we'd walked through the door, I suggested we have a look on the computer.  So we found out about the Ancient Olympics, as well as the history of the modern Olympics and some of the sports, from the ones that have been there from 1896, to the more recently introduced ones.  Unfortunately M wasn't particularly interested and also hungry, so our finding out session was somewhat curtailed, but I'm hoping we can get back to it in the next couple of days.
