Bye bye butterflies!

This morning there were 3 whole and healthy looking butterflies in the 'garden' and it was pretty clear that the last cocoon wasn't likely to hatch.  So we took them into the garden, opened the zip and waited.  And waited!  Eventually one of the three fluttered its way to freedom, but the other two were more reluctant and needed a bit more encouragement.  I've got some lovely photos, but am only allowed to post this one.

K asked me to post this photo of her space-hopping at last week's Lark in the Park.

And finally, I sent some feedback to Shakespeare's Birthplace about their website's insufficiencies regarding the Shakespeare Aloud! actors that perform in the garden there and chat with the visitors.  Currently typing 'shakespeare aloud!' into the site's search box on the home page doesn't bring up that page I've linked to bizarrely!  So I mentioned that along with K & M's disappointment at not being able to find out anything about the actors we'd met.  I didn't have to wait many days to get this reply:

Dear Ruth,

I am so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to The Birthplace, and that you and your daughters took time to spend with our Shakespeare Aloud! actors.

Your email came through at just the right time! As new Operations Manager here I am currently in the process of improving the Shakespeare Aloud! page on the web-site and the ease with which you can find it.

We have updated the page to add a video of one of the actresses performing ‘The Seven Ages of Man’ and will continue to add more of these as part of our ‘Top Ten Shakespeare’ video blogs.

We are also working on a ‘Meet the Actors’ section featuring interviews with the actors and a photo gallery.

Your email helped move this forward in a meeting this morning, so I am most grateful!
Keep an eye on our web-site for up-dates and do let me know what you think of future developments. There should be a real difference for the new Winter Season from September onwards.

We hope that you and your family will visit us again soon.

Just goes to show that constructive feedback really can make a difference!
