Sports Relief sponsored event.

For a few weeks now, K, M and their friend L have been planning their sponsored event to raise money for Sports Relief.  This was conceived entirely by them: they decided they wanted to raise money for the charity; they came up with the idea of what to do; L sent off for the sponsorship pack; they asked friends, family and acquaintances if they would sponsor them and on Saturday it was the big day.

The three of them spent nine and a quarter hours tied together to their four-legged sponsored event.  They went to the local park with a halloween bucket made-over to be a collection bucket and a few people donated there, despite their reticence about approaching anyone.

On the way to the park.
Once we'd got back, fortified by a burger each for lunch.  We swapped the cut up socks that they had used to join themselves together for much more comfortable bandages.  Then the three of them shuffled themselves into the back of our car to spend the afternoon at korfball (watching not playing) while A refereed and they collected some more money.  Since then they have been collecting the promised sponsorship and some more along the way from people who have been impressed by their initiative and dedication.  There is still some money to be collected, but the grand total will be well over £200.  They are quite rightly very proud of themselves, as indeed we are too!
